The 15 best hospitals in N.J., ranked by U.S. News & World Report

Morristown Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center again topped the list as the best hospitals in New Jersey, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The ranking — which has been compiled for more than three decades — is a nationwide assessment of dozens of medical and surgical services.

This year’s analysis includes new cancer ratings and health equity measures.

No New Jersey hospitals cracked the nation’s top 10. The Mayo Clinic, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and NYU Langone Hospitals topped that list. However, several Garden State facilities garnered national rankings in certain specialties.

Here are the top facilities in New Jersey:

The Camden hospital ranks 16th in the Philadelphia region and scored well in several adult procedure and condition categories, including heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure and stroke.

Located in Brick, the hospital — part of the Hackensack Meridian Health network — ranks 29th in the New York area, receiving high marks in procedure and condition categories such as colon cancer surgery, diabetes and kidney failure.

Ranking 15th in the Philadelphia region, the Stratford facility rated high in eight adult procedure and condition categories, including heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure and stroke.

The Voorhees hospital, ranking 12th in the Philadelphia area, scored high in nine adult procedure and condition categories, including colon cancer surgery, heart failure, diabetes, kidney failure and stroke.

Located in Plainsboro, the facility performed well in one adult area — orthopedics — and in several procedure and condition categories, including heart failure, kidney failure, stroke, hip fracture, hip replacement, knee replacement and COPD. The hospital ranks 24th among New York area hospitals.

Part of Hackensack Meridian Health, the Neptune facility received a national ranking in pediatric nephrology and high-performance marks in several procedure and condition categories, including colon and lung cancer surgery, heart bypass surgery, diabetes, kidney failure, stroke and COPD. The facility ranks first in New Jersey for pediatric care.
